One of the most common issues with dog owners is puppy crate training. Don’t feel horrible if this is you, take some credit for moving in the proper direction. Some canine owners say that it is a thing that you must live with, having a puppy, and the canine will probably grow out of it. For me, I believe that this is a lazy way of thinking! Taking care of your dog is a huge responsibility and you will have to learn the correct rules for taking care of it!
In today’s world, there are too many resources at your fingertips to learn the proper ways to properly care for your new puppy (some better than others, but we’ll discuss that later). For now let’s just try to move in the right direction. You might not do everything perfectly but what matters is direction not perfection. With acquiring the knowledge of any new system, patience is required, for certain with the new addition to your household.
Now, let’s get started with some basics of puppy crate training. We will start with why you should use a crate to house break your puppy. Dogs are canines like wolves and in nature rely on a den to raise their puppies. Spending their puppyhood this way results in them being relaxed and secure in a den. When they get older they naturally choose a den to sleep at night as opposed to being exposed to predators out in the open. This can be a dug out section of a hill or underground, it will provide safety and comfort.
It is also the puppy’s instinct from mother nature not to use it’s den for relieving itself and keeping it clean. This instinct by itself is a thing that we as men or women can use to our advantage when housebreaking a puppy. Anyway, if you happen to be someone who doesn’t like having your puppies in crates, you are actually going with nature in providing a den with security. Puppy crate training is a safe humane way to house train your puppy quickly and effectively.
