How To Train A Puppy

Here’s a little advice about how to train a puppy. Puppy training doesn’t have to be difficult. It may take a little patience, but dogs are smart and their goal is to make you happy. If you get angry, always remember that and walk away.

There are many books dedicated to puppy training and there’s lots of free information available on the internet. First of all, you need to learn to reward good behavior and not to reward bad behavior. Provide lots of positive attention to your dog’s desirable behavior and ignore undesirable behavior. You can use a crate, or a basket for a smaller dog. Crates are very helpful when housetraining, as well.

Puppy training begins with teaching him his name and a few simple obedience commands. Dogs don’t automatically understand “sit, stay or down”. They won’t learn to respond to their names, if you don’t use it regularly.

Most owners find that a dog will respond best to a short name with one or two syllables. That’s why the names Rover and Fido are popular. To teach your puppy his name, say it when you are petting him, grooming him or feeding him. It is particularly important when you place his food dish on the floor. Say, “Here Rover” or something similar. This will ensure that your puppy has a positive association to hearing his name.

Other than his name, the most important command that you can teach during puppy training is “down”. Down becomes even more useful as the dog grows. If you allow them to jump up on you when they are young, it is more difficult to break the habit when they get older.

Puppies spend more time on two legs than they do on four. So, when you see this behavior, take their paws. Place them on the floor and say “down”. Be consistent and repetitive. That’s how to train your puppy the correct way, regardless of the behavior you are trying to encourage or extiguish.

Teaching commands is one of the fundamentals of puppy training. buy Petcam Tablets online Basically, you show the dog what you want and then you say the command. For example, when teaching “sit”, take a treat and hold it right up to his nose, but not close enough that he can take it. Raise the treat up and above his head, this should put him in the right position price cialis to push his bottom towards the floor. Once his bottom gets close to the floor, say “sit”. He will learn to associate the word with the action of planting his butt on the ground.

All other commands are taught in a similar fashion. You see, how to train a puppy isn’t as hard as you thought it was. All it takes is a little know-how, plenty of repetition buy acomplia online and of course, some patience.

Quick guide to Dog Behavior Issues

Understanding Your Dog’s Behavioral Problems

Dogs exhibit many behaviors that leave their owners scratching their heads in confusion. Whether it’s barking, digging, nipping, or a number of other annoying buying acomplia online activities, canines do things that seem odd to us. However, by understanding why they do such things, owners can learn to modify such behaviors.

Below, we’ll discuss several behavioral problems that can frustrate owners, their guests, and their neighbors. The purpose of this article is to give you the tips and tools to understand and correct yoru dogs behavior issues.

Chewing

Dogs chew for a variety of reasons. Sometimes, they’re anxious. Other times – especially in the case of puppies – they chew because they’re teething. Still other times, they simply become bored or restless. They do it to work off excess energy.

If your canine limits her chewing to a chew toy, or Bully Sticks there’s little harm in it. If no chew toys are present, everything in the house is a potential chew toy, including shoes, furniture etc. When you notice her chewing on things she should not be, sharply tell her. Take away (or remove her from) the item on which she’s chewing and give her a Odorless Bully Stick in its place.

Excessive Barking

First, it’s important to realize that your dog barks as a way of communicating. While it can become frustrating if she does so excessively, owners should understand that there may be a valid reason for the behavior.

That said, canines often bark excessively for a number of reasons that are inappropriate. For example, they may be bored or excited. They may be barking buy Toprol XL online because other pets are close by. At times it’s just an attention grabbing order cialis issue.

To discourage inappropriate barking, make sure your pooch gets exercise each day. When bored, her pent-up energy can trigger the behavior. Also, avoid encouraging her barking by giving her attention when she does it. Instead a Loud clap from your hands will inform your dog that their actions and behavior is unacceptable.

Begging

Dogs love food, even if they’re not hungry. Given the opportunity, they’ll continue eating as long as someone gives them something to eat. The problem is that owners encourage begging each time they provide a taste from the dinner table. Remember, your pooch learns by repetition. When it comes to food, she learns quickly. By rewarding your dog when they beg, the dog believes the behavior is acceptable and will continue.

You can discourage the begging behavior by removing the dog during meals.

The Value Of Obedience Classes

Most behavioral issues can be curbed by enrolling your dog into obedience classes. If you follow this course of action as a puppy, the training is more likely to be learned.” If you enroll her as an adult, the training will be effective, but she’ll probably need periodic classes as a reminder of what constitutes appropriate conduct. In the end, a well-trained, well-behaved dog makes a more pleasant companion.

Dog Obedience Training: Free Yourself From Being Stressed By Your Badly Behaved Dog

Are you having problems with your dog behaving badly? Don’t put it off any longer. It’s time to start some serious dog obedience training. This means you should be consistent and persistent acomplia prescription with your training. However, training should always be fun for your dog or it will quickly get bored!

Understand Your Dog Basic Needs

Having a dog is a responsibility. If you don’t fulfill your dog’s basic needs, it shouldn’t be a surprise if you have a badly behaved  or neurotic dog. What are the basic needs? Here are the main ones:

  • food and water
  • exercise
  • company and social interaction
  • a stimulating environment.

The main point in dog training is to use positive and negative reinforcement. When your dog engages in a behavior that is wanted, you should reward him with a treat or affection. The treat or affection must come as soon after the behavior as humanly possible in order for buy Beconase AQ online it to be effective.

It’s best to focus on positive reinforcement for wanted behaviors rather than negative reinforcement for behaviors you want to stop. This has been found to be a more productive way of training.

Physical punishment is not an effective or humane way to train dogs and will only lead to a  fearful and neurotic dog. You can say a firm “No” in a growling tone of voice to stop him engaging in an unwanted behavior. Perhaps most effective is to ignore your dog when he behaves badly. Dogs love attention and being ignored is negative reinforcement enough.

An important aspect of training is to understand that a dog is a dog, not a human being. Don’t humanize him. Dogs have their own way of communicating which you will not understand unless you study it. You need to learn what their body language means: the position of the tail, the mouth positions, the ear position and the sounds they make.

For effective training, you must position yourself as the alpha dog or pack leader. If your dog is pack sale cialis leader, he is never going to be well-behaved for you because he thinks you are one of his pack. Some pointers to set yourself up as pack leader:
-eat a a little snack in front of your dog just before you feed him. The alpha dog always eats first.
-don’t allow him to get on the sofa or bed. The pack leader sleeps on higher ground.
-don’t allow him to go through the door before you.

This is an introduction to some important points in dog obedience training. I recommend you look into the most systematic of training methods: clicker training.

Please Make The Dog Stop Barking NOW!

Does your dog or even worse, your neighbor’s dog bark all the dang time?
If so it’s pretty easy to reach your whit’s end rather cialis no rx quickly.

After a while you really couldn’t care less why the little nimrod’s doing it, you just want to make the barking stop. Does that sound about right to you?

Trust me, I know what you’re going through all too well.
How would I know these feelings of frustration so intimately?

Simple, my wife got a small Poodle and the little begger absolutely would not stay quiet for 10 minutes. I swear, if an ant walked across the driveway he would carry on for 20 minutes strait. I was just about off my rocker with the little loudspeaker.

Now, please don’t get me wrong, I really love animals and buy Chloramphenicol online I especially love dogs. I don’t know about you, but personally I love well behaved dogs.
So, not really wanting to incur my wife’s wrath for suggesting Fido be relocated several States away just to make the barking stop, I started researching to find a solution or at least find some options and find them fast.

Here are a few of the things to stop the dog from barking that I discovered:

All the books said “You need to find out why the dog is barking in the first place”. And I’m thinking yeah, right! I don’t care why the little dim bulb’s carrying on like a broken record, just make him stop.

But I do have to agree with them, there is good barking and bad barking. So when training your dog it is important to teach your dog the difference between nuisance barking and good barking (like if it’s 2 am and I’m snoring keep quiet, but if you see a guy with a mask a gun and a sack, Bark!).

As it turns out there is actually a lot of different kinds of barking, there’s reactive, territorial, separation anxiety, fear and warning barking. And without becoming a Sigmund Freud for Animal Planet tm I really couldn’t tell you which was which.

I did find a few things that actually worked really well. What the heck it only took 5 hours of reading & video’s and it cost more than the dog did to buy all the books to find one that worked.

But here’s one of the tips that it said that worked really good. Every time the dog barks give it a piece of bacon with 1/2 a Prozac stuck into it (ok, ok, so that was my solution and not exactly what the book said, but the dog liked it!) Just kidding online acomplia around!

No really, what the books all said was give the dog an alternate outlet. And because it might actually take me an hour and a half to watch the TV show 60 Minutes, I’m thinking, alternate outlet, WHAT! they want me to plug the little begger into a wall socket?

Well, turns out I was wrong, they meant every time it starts yapping give him a soft toy and toss it around for a second so he gets the idea to play with it. This way when the dog begins feeling anxiety, nervousness or separation it will search for the toy and find comfort in it.

There are a ton more tips that I got at => http://stopdogbark.tripleyourinfo.com/

But I sure hope this one helps, it worked for me even better than the Prozac and at a buck a pill that stuff gets kinda spendy after a bit.

Start by gaining your dogs attention with a favourite, yet small treat (cut up cheese, chicken or sausage perhaps). acomplia online We want to get started by having the dog facing you, standing in front of you.. Hold a piece of the treat driectly by his nose, then move it down to the ground in front of him, yet far enough to let him know hes not allowed it just yet. Try and restrain him if you have to. Use your chosen down command (voice and hand motion) and repeat it until he lays down.

After he lies down, let him have his treat by moving it to him, as he is lying down.

We dont want him to get the reward, until he has done the whole motion. Dont reward him for a half job. If the dog appears reluctant, try and coax him onto his back to get him down and reward him. Keep this up, you want to keep going until the dog learns that he is rewarded when he lies right down. It wont take long if he is in the mood for food!

Hold the treat at a fartehr distance each time, and place less emphasis on giving the reward with each repetition. Get him to accept your praise as reward for obeying the hand and voice commands you give.
